Susan Eisen has a background in art history, having taken history of art courses at Emory University and choosing it as her minor at the University of Texas at El Paso. Besides owning an art gallery for many years, she has experience in appraising original art, paintings, print and sculptures for insurance replacement to cover loss, damage, fire, or theft, as well as appraisals for estate tax, heir distribution, and museum charitable contributions.
After graduating first in "The Appraisal of Fine Art" course offered by the International Society of Appraisers, Ms. Eisen continues to attend workshops and seminars on art valuation and appraisal. She appraises original oil and acrylic paintings, ink and charcoal drawings, limited edition prints, sculptures, and one-of-a-kind objects d'art. She is also knowledgeable about frame types, conservation mounting, and professional framing procedures.
